Meetings
The MRV Chapter of the AAPM holds at least one meeting annually. Meetings are a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues, learn about trends in the field of Medical Physics, and interact with vendors.
Please join us for our Virtual Spring Chapter Meeting,
April 9-10th, 2021!
Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic we will be holding our spring 2021 chapter meeting virtually this year.
We will be holding our med phys slam and night out on the evening of April 9th. Our mock oral examinations will occur on the morning of April 10th. Following the mock oral exam, on April 10th, we will then be holding the rest of our conference. During the conference we will have our young investigators competition and several presentations which will count for SAMs and CE credits. The conference will then close with a business meeting.
Later that same evening we will hold a virtual night out for everyone to connect and network.

Virtual Night Out
All members are invited to join us for an informal virtual night out consisting of some fun games and discussion over Zoom. Depending on the number people, we will be playing games like Pictionary, Codenames, GeoGuesser, A Fake Artist Goes To New York, JackBox, and more! No previous knowledge of the games needed! We will explain the rules and give instructions when you join. Be sure to make some tasty snacks and BYOB!
Med Phys Slam
All young investigators (anyone pursuing their graduate degree in medical physics or related field or in a medical physics residency) are invited to signup for this years Spring 2021 Med Phys Slam competition. The Med Phys slam will take place on the evening of April 9th The winners of the Slam competition will receive receive $150 and will get to complete at the National Slam competition at the summer AAPM meeting.
The deadline to signup is March 17th. Participants med phys slam should provide us with key learning objectives for your talk. The signup links can be found below.
Young Investigator Symposium
All young investigators (anyone pursuing their graduate degree in medical physics or related field or in a medical physics residency) are invited to signup for this years Spring 2021 MRV Young Investigators symposium (YIS) competition. The YIS competition will take place on April 10th. The winners of the YIS competition will each receive monetary prizes of $150 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place.
The deadline to signup is March 17th. As part of the signup we are asking that all YIS participants either submit an abstract of their work or include key learning objectives of their talk. The signup links can be found below.
Mock ABR Oral Exam
The Mock Oral Exam will be held virtually on Saturday morning approximately 7:45am-11:15am on April 10th, 2021. The exam will consist of five 25-minute exams with 10 minutes for feedback with each examiner. Examinees will be given written feedback from each examiner to aid in your preparation upon completion of the event. Once registered, examinees will be sent a Zoom link and examinees will move between examiners using breakout rooms. The goal of the Mock Oral event is to familiarize the examinee with the environment and the structure of the exam. We do not know the content of the actual exams.

Chapter Business Meeting
The business meeting will be held at the end on of the meeting on April 10th. We will discuss old and new business including planning for the fall meeting/workshop. There will also be reports from the board rep and secretary/treasurer.
Meeting and Speaker Evaluation Forms for CE credits
This meeting has applied to CAMPEP for approval of 5.15 hours. After the meeting, please fill out the following forms and email them to the mrvaapm@gmail.com in order to receive your credits.

The vendors will give each person a code word and, after the meeting, you can fill out the form linked below with the code words to be entered in a raffle for a $25 prize! Each correct code word gets you one entry in the raffle. The winner will be contacted via email shortly after the meeting.
